About Michael Taras, DMD, LLC
Michael Taras, DMD, LLC is a dentist in Allentown, Pennsylvania. It is listed at 2900 Hamilton Blvd, Allentown, PA 18103, which places it among the local businesses of Allentown that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by.
In Allentown, popular practices book routine cleanings weeks ahead, so call early or ask to be put on a cancellation list; emergency and walk-in clinics are the exception. Across Pennsylvania, a new-patient exam with X-rays and a cleaning typically runs from about $150 to $350 without insurance, and many offices publish new-patient specials on their websites. Check the listing for hours, whether the office takes your insurance or Medicaid, languages spoken, wheelchair access and parking, then confirm by phone: insurance networks and providers change more often than the listings do.
Hours are published for 4 days a week. Typical hours are 8 amβ3:30 pm. Note that it does not open on Friday, Saturday, Sunday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach Michael Taras, DMD, LLC at (610) 432-1320; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. Its website is drtarasdentist.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.
Its Google rating stands at 2.7 out of 5 from 112 reviews, which is below average for the category; consider the recent reviews carefully before visiting.
Allentown is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Allentown follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Went here years ago, but finally putting on my review because the amount of fear and anxiety this dentist put into me made me not want to even write it. I was told after missing one appointment and going there usually every six months that my xrays showed i had six cavities two needed root canals. I was so dumbfounded. I couldn't believe in that short of time I needed that much work. I went elsewhere who did panoramic xrays and was told the one yooth that dr taras told me needed a root canal was actually a crack which only needed a crown. The other tooth needed no root canal. Nothing was wrong with it.

I've had a long history with this place, as this was my dentist when I was a kid. I went here until I was old enough to advocate for myself and had some independence on where I could go for dental work. Recently, I fell and damaged the crown that Dr Tara put on when I was 14. I'm now 27. I had gone to a different dentist (as I had been due to the fact the quote on quote professionals here were extremely rude and unsympathetic to the fact I had fallen behind on dental care after the death of my best friend- they had judged me quite severely to my face and shamed me for it, when in reality, my teeth were *not* that bad) and had them fix it. I'm waiting on a permanent crown, which is apparently what I've been waiting on for the past THIRTEEN YEARS.. as APPARENTLY the crown Dr Tara's put on? WAS A TEMPORARY. FOR THIRTEEN YEARS, A TEMPORARY CROWN- A PIECE OF PLASTIC- HAS BEEN LIVING IN MY MOUTH, RIGHT IN THE FRONT OF MY FACE. Thirteen years, my biggest insecurity was my front tooth- right where the APPARENT TEMPORARY crown was placed cause it was GREY. They didn't even clean the dead tooth underneath. They literally just popped the temporary crown on, which was a tad thicker and longe

I was so grateful to have found Dr. Taras, but he literally just snapped at me in the middle of a procedure. He seems to have a lot of credentials, but I truly feel there is something not right with this man. No doctor should ever treat a patient this way. If he had concerns, he could/should have calmly stopped and explained that to me. Instead, he was treating me with an attitude and a level of harshness youβd expect if we had some kind of sordid history. It was shocking, and bizarre. Dentists are used to people being anxious. Nobody likes going to the dentist; itβs vulnerable. All I did was answer honestly when he asked how I was doing. βA bit anxious.β I said it calmly. I was meant to have my silver fillings removed. I think itβs entirely understandable to be a little bit anxious, because mercuryβ¦.. I said it calmly. Heβd numbed me, quite aggressively (it hurt more than it ever has before) and came back to start working. He told me to let him know if something hurt and heβd slow down. (He never explained anything to me about the process, or even confirmed which tooth he was working on today. I still donβt know which tooth was just drilled into before he abandoned the procedur

Just avoid the place, Michael Taraβs is rude & was not at all carful when doing my fillings. My mouth doesnβt align well after getting fillings here. He also told me the numbness Would go away within 2 to 3 hours, My appointment was for 230 and my mouth was completely numb till 9 oβclock at night. Any time I asked him a question he would just give me a blank stare. I now have to go and pay to get it fixed. I wish I read the reviews before coming here. The only thing nice about the place were the receptionist.

I had one of the worst dental experiences at this place. Back in 2021, I went there to have two fillings replaced on my molars, and it turned into a horrible experience. The so-called dentist, Michael Taras, clearly did not seem to know what he was doing. Instead of properly removing the cavities first, he drilled deep holes into both of my molars and immediately started placing the fillings. The pain I went through during that procedure was unbelievable and something I will never forget. What made it even more concerning was that even after he placed the fillings, you could still see areas that looked like untreated cavities. Yesterday, I had to see another dentist urgently because I was having serious issues with those same teeth. Thankfully, I was lucky and didnβt lose my molars, but the dentist confirmed that there were major problems with the work that had been done before. In my honest opinion, Michael Taras, the so-called dentist, was careless and extremely unprofessional. No patient should have to go through that level of pain or be left with dental work that puts their teeth at risk. Someone who treats patients this way should not be practicing dentistry.
